Web 2.0

The first tag I looked at was called Boxee. It is a device you can order that will connect your TV to the internet to watch videos on websites such as Hulu, and Netflix.  It was a very informative website and seemed like a useful gadget for at home although I'm not sure how useful it would be in the classroom as many classrooms have projectors that display what is already on the computer so you could watch videos in the classroom that way.  The site was easy to use, I had no problem navigating it.  I think the intended audience is any person who wants to watch videos from the internet on their TV.

The second tag I looked at was called Kerpoof.  It is a website where you can make art online and earn points and rewards.  It is aimed to attract elementary aged children.  It could be used in art class to incorporate technology into art and show students that art is more than drawing and painting etc., and that there are many different ways to be creative and imaginative.  The website was somewhat easy to use although they had a lot of link options so it could be better if they eliminated some of the options to make it more "kid friendly".

Bucket List!

There are many things that I want to do before I "kick the bucket".  Here is a list:

  • See bioluminescence (many algae and fish create a green glow when the gene is expressed)
  • See aurora borealis!
  • Live in a Spanish speaking country
  • Get married to the love of my life and have a family :)
  • Travel the world (go to as many continents as possible)
  • Become fluent in Spanish
  • Get a Masters degree in Biology
  • Go on a missions trip to a foreign country to help others less fortunate than me
  • Enjoy life daily!!!!
